A Special Visit from Nawal and Her Daughter from Palestine

We were delighted to welcome Nawal and her daughter from Hebron, Palestine, and Friends of Palestine, Hilary and her colleagues to the Saheli Women’s Day Centre this week. Nawal is an inspiring woman who leads a local women’s organisation in Hebron, empowering women through traditional Palestinian craft.

Her organisation supports women artisans who create beautiful handmade embroidered scarves, bags, shawls, and a variety of other unique items—each piece telling a story of heritage, resilience, and creativity.

During her visit, Nawal shared insights into her work and the challenges and triumphs faced by women in her community. The exchange was heartfelt and inspiring, reminding us of the power of women’s solidarity across borders.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and explore future collaborations that celebrate women’s artistry and empowerment around the world.

Nawal runs a women’s organisation in Hebron who sells hand made embroidered scarves, bags, shawls and much more.
