Saheli Women’s Day Centre
Saheli is a vibrant community centre located in Hertfordshire, dedicated to providing support, companionship, and opportunities for women from diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for our members and promote a sense of belonging with the singular mission of empowering women.
We organise various engaging events and activities, such as educational workshops and charity events, to support other charities in Hertfordshire. Our most recent event aimed to raise much-needed funds for Rennie Grove, which supports and assists people during difficult times.
We strive to create a diverse program for our members, with recent highlights including health and wellness exercise classes, chair yoga, embroidery workshops, cooking sessions, arts & crafts, literacy lessons, and IT lessons to help beginners and intermediates learn to use the latest technology.
We understand the importance of social interaction and exploration. Saheli has organised several outings and trips to local attractions, museums, exhibitions, seaside trips, and picnics in the park. These excursions change scenery and allow our members to connect and form lasting friendships.
We believe in continuous learning and personal growth. Saheli regularly invites guest speakers to address our members on various topics of interest. Recent workshops have covered digital literacy, mental health, nutrition, and sustainability. These sessions have been informative and well-received by our community.
Saheli Day Centre dramatically values the contributions of volunteers. We welcome individuals who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our members. If you would like to become a volunteer, please reach out to our team.
We have an exciting line-up of activities and events planned for the coming months, including a Wellbeing Day on March 7th, a day trip to Lavender Gardens, and continuing our commitment to promoting health and wellness. Stay tuned for more information through our upcoming newsletters and social media.
Please note amended new timetable: Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 10:30am – 2:30pm.
