Community Voices Driving Change in Hertfordshire
The VCFSE Alliance Board recently hosted an inspiring and impactful Community Conference at the Fielder Centre on Tuesday 12th May 2026, bringing together organisations, leaders, professionals and communities from across Hertfordshire to highlight the vital role communities play in improving health, wellbeing, prevention and holistic support.

The event was extremely well attended and created a powerful space for collaboration, shared learning and meaningful conversations around the future of health and wellbeing in Hertfordshire.

Keynote speakers passionately spoke about the immense value of the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector and the essential role it plays in supporting communities, reducing inequalities and delivering preventative services. There was a strong message that statutory organisations, including the NHS Integrated Care Board and wider public sector partners, must continue to recognise, value and actively involve community organisations in decision-making processes and long-term planning.

The conference reinforced the importance of working with communities — not just for communities — to create sustainable, preventative and person-centred approaches that truly improve lives and wellbeing across Hertfordshire.

We are also proud to share that Rushna Miah, Director of HAWA Multicultural Services, was actively involved in the conference and continues to champion the voices of diverse communities through her work on the VCFSE Alliance Board.
